Meet Our New Science Education Coordinator

Dr. Joel Mintzes |
As the newest member of the Science Education Department, I am excited to join a talented and growing team of faculty who are committed to enhancing science teaching and learning in the North State region and beyond! Having spent many years as a science teacher in parts of the United States, Canada, India, Taiwan and Israel, I am delighted to return to my home state of California and contribute to this very important work. At Chico State, science education is a cooperative effort involving a group of strongly dedicated, distinguished faculty from each of the natural science disciplines, mathematics and professional education. We are committed to educating highly qualified science teachers who have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed in a very rewarding profession. In so doing, we also contribute to a growing knowledge base on teaching and learning in the natural sciences. We welcome you to our growing community and invite you to drop by and say hello. If you are an undergraduate who is thinking about becoming a science teacher, we are here to help you get where you want to be. If you are already in the science classroom, think about returning to Chico State; our in-service programs and MiST (masters in science teaching) degree may be just what you are looking for. Our programs are challenging, exciting, up-to-date and relevant to your professional goals. We look forward to seeing you soon! |
